Soundryx builds rugged, low-cost acoustic sensors that detect small drones and other threats across vast areas.

As our Founding Audio ML Engineer, you’ll bridge the gap between raw audio signals and deployable neural network models. You’ll own the audio ML pipeline end-to-end and ensure our models perform reliably on real-world hardware.

What You’ll Do

• Visualize audio data to uncover features, biases, and collection issues.
• Train and evaluate models on audio waveforms and derived features.
• Improve datasets, features, and architectures for robust on-device performance.
• Quantize, optimize, and deploy models to our embedded sensor hardware.

What You’ve Done

• Hands-on experience with audio DSP and visualization tools (Python, MATLAB, etc.).
• Trained neural networks, ideally on image or audio data.
• Written signal processing code in C++ or Rust.
• Nice-to-have: Implemented beamforming algorithms.

Additional Requirements

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, or willingness and ability to obtain shortly after joining (we’ll reimburse and train).
• Export Control: Due to potential access to export-controlled technical data, this position requires a US Person* (US citizen or US lawful permanent resident) as defined by 22 CFR §120.15.

WARNING

Our commercial product is designed for broad exportability. This role also ensures we can support US-only programs under a Technology Control Plan when needed.

Compensation

• Salary: $130,000 - $180,000
• Equity: 2% - 4% of the fully-diluted cap table for Soundryx, Inc. as calculated on offer grant date. The grant is offered as options on a standard four-year vesting schedule with a one-year cliff.
